Gobhi Mussallam

Ingredients:


Cauliflower ( small sized)- 2
Salt- as per taste
Turmeric powder- 1 tspn
Onions- 2 medium sized
Oil- 3 tblspns
Ginger paste- 1 tblspn
Garlic paste- 1 tblspn
Cumin powder- 1 tspn
Red chilli powder- 1 tblspn
Coriander powder- 1 tblspn
Garam masala powder- 1 tspn
Tomato  puree- 1/2 cup
Chopped coriander leaves- 2 tblspns
Water- 1 cup

Method:


  • Remove stalks from cauliflower. Boil cauliflower in salted water with 1/2 tspn turmeric powder till half cooked. Peel onions and grate them. 
  • Heat oil in a kadhai. Add grated onions and saute until golden brown in color.
  • Add ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, remaining turmeric powder, garam masala powder and salt. Stir for half a minute.
  • Add tomato puree and cook till oil leaves the masala. Add water and bring it to a boil. Mix well.
  • Add half-boiled cauliflower and cook covered on low heat or in a pre-heated oven for fifteen minutes. Simmer for five minutes.
  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
