Dalia ( cracked wheat) - 1/2 cup
Water- 2 Cups
Milk- 2% or whole- 1 glass - 250 ml
Sugar- 1/4 cup
In a pressure cooker, dry roast the cracked wheat for approximately 5-6 minutes. The cracked wheat will start turning brownish pink in color.
Then add, the water and pressure cook till 1 whistle. After the whistle, simmer and cook for another 5 minutes.
When the pressure releases, open cooker and add the milk. Add the sugar.Stir for 5 minutes on medium high heat, stirring continuously. The dalia is ready to eat.
Serves 2.
Excellent reciepe. Great for my toddler and a must for her breakfast. To make it healthy , sometimes in the pressure cooker I had dates as well. Hence no sugar is required for her.

ReplyDeleteThe recepie is quite good..as dalia is very healthy for all of us and kids too..v cn also mk it by adding vegetables like carrots,beans,onions and tomatoes...just ilk my kid dsnt like any thing sweet..I make it salted and u cn add some lemon juice at d end to get a tangy taste which d kids will like it for sure :)
